I Don't Know A Damn Thing!

My name is Ben Oberg, I didn’t go to college, and I don’t have a degree. For all intensive purposes one could say I am a bum….I just happen to be a young bum (get your mind out of the gutter) that has made hundreds of thousands of dollars, traveled the world (which I am actually doing while writing this), and helped tons of people quit their jobs.

What Did I Do?

I graduated high school with a 3.6 GPA (could have been a 4.0 but why put effort into studying irrational roots, imaginary numbers, and drunk poets named Edgar Allan Poe when you literally could give a shit less). It didn’t take many brain cells to figure out that there is college is a compete waste of time unless you are going to be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, or something that actually REQUIRES you to need a piece of paper called a degree that says you know some shit. Or of course if you want $50K in student loans, a shitty car, and a minimum wage job having earned that bachelor’s degree! So what did I do?

I QUIT!

I went out into the school of life, spent 4 years in professional sales where I watched and learned from the best until I became the best. 2 years in to my sales career I started Vulcan Customs; a custom metal fabrication business for motorcycles and custom cars. Another 6 months went by and the depression of working my ass off for someone else hit. I am speaking to you reading this right now; if you are not doing EXACTLY what you want to do in life or working towards it then you are adding ingredients to a recipe that 97% of the world makes that I call “how to fuck your life up as fast as you can.” So I decided that I was going to do EXACTLY what I wanted to do in life. I quit…

What Happened Next?

Listen to what I am about to say next very carefully and write it down…I quit and I made a commitment to myself; I told myself I would never get another “job” and I would never work for someone else ever again. I had $5K/mo in bills and up to that point had not made more than $2K net in a month on my own. Here is what happened; I chose to put myself in a position to win. I put myself in a position where I had to rely on skills, talents, and abilities that I already had but they were just lying dormant inside me. I grew most when I had nothing and it got me to where I am today. Most people take the jump half way or want to have some sort of safety net.

Do Or Die?

No, no….you are setting yourself up for failure when you do that. You NEED to put yourself in the position where it is do or die, sink or swim. What happened?…I learned to swim real damn good and hundreds of thousands of dollars later, hundreds of hundred-hour work weeks later, dozens of countries visited later, hundreds of people helped later, here I am. And there is absolutely NO REASON why you can’t do it either.

You will not succeed!

Unfortunately 5 things stop most people from ever achieving greatness:

They have bad mentorship
They are in a bad business/have a bad product
They listen to the opinions of other people who don’t have what they want
They don’t believe in themselves
They give up too soon

What Happened Next?

You are probably wondering how I made all this money and live the way I do? Let me tell you something else. I don’t believe in having money to have money. I believe in having money because money gives you options, money gives you the ability to live life on your terms. Money is not the root of all evil; poverty, laziness, and willingly accepting mediocrity are. So what do you think it is that I do? I teach people how to live life on their terms, how to not be a victim to those 5 things I just mentioned, I teach them how to achieve greatness.
